How can I get my website to rank high?
Your website is meaningless if it cannot be found in popular search engines such as Google and Yahoo. In order to rank high in searches, there are a number of site-wide and page-level adjustments that have to be made and tweaked over time to optimize it for search engines. These include the use of appropriate keywords and phrases; page descriptions, titles and heading tags; and image name, alt and title tags.
Additionally, there are off-page elements that have to be addressed like acquiring quality backlinks, user reviews and social shares. None of these can be done through a singular effort.
It is a process that involves tedious work over a long period of time in order to meet the goal of getting to page one or even number one in a Google search. Achieving that goal ultimately comes down to having a website that meets web standards and contain unique content on its niche.

How Google Search Works
The benefit of ranking high
A study done by Backlinco in 2019 where they analyzed 5 million Google search results to better understand organic click through rate found the following:
- the top 3 Google search results get 75.1% of all clicks,
- the #1 result in Google's organic search results has an average CTR of 31.7%,
- the #1 organic result is 10x more likely to receive a click compared to a page in #10 spot,
- the organic CTR for positions 7-10 is virtually the same, and
- only 0.78% of Google searchers clicked on something from the second page.
